IPL 2021: From Venkatesh Iyer to Harshal Patel, top 5 uncapped Indian players of the tournament

Indian Premier League (IPL) is probably the biggest cricket league around the world. IPL provides a stage where the youngsters can show their talents, and at the same time players who are struggling to make it big, can redefine themselves by showing their prowess. Like every year, the 2021 edition of IPL has also witnessed a number of Indian uncapped players, who have displayed their fantastic performances throughout the tournament. This is a stage where talent flourishes and gets recognition.

During this season of ongoing IPL 2021, we have seen some new talents emerging. Let’s have a look on the top 5 uncapped Indian players who stood out in IPL 2021.

1. Venkatesh Iyer (KKR)

Venkatesh Iyer has taken the IPL by storm with his fearless and attacking batting. If Iyer was not playing for KKR, they wouldn’t have been in the final of IPL 2021. KKR began the UAE leg with only 2 wins in 7 matches and have now won 7 of 9 matches they have played in the UAE. Iyer has been key in laying the foundation for other batters in KKR side, the southpaw scores run at a high strike-rate. Iyer has scored 320 runs in only 9 matches and also picked 3 wickets for his team.

2. Umran Malik (SRH)

Umran Malik of Sunrisers Hyderabad made a surprise entry in IPL 2021. Even though SRH had a season to forget, but Umran with his pace surprised all of the cricket fans across world. While bowling, he clocked 150+ kmph more than 5 times, including the fastest delivery of IPL 2021 of 153 kmph against RCB.

3. Harshal Patel (RCB)

Harshal Patel was the backbone of RCB bowling this season. With 32 wickets in 15 matches, Harshal has taken most number of wickets this season. He also became the second bowler after Dwayne Bravo to pick 32 wickets in a season.

4. Avesh Khan (DC)

The 24-year-old Avesh Khan has been sensational for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021, the bowler has picked 24 wickets on his name and is second on the list of players with moist no. of wickets.

5. Ravi Bishnoi (PBKS)

Punjab Kings leggie Ravi Bishnoi played only 9 matches in the tournament and scalped 12 wickets on his name. Bishnoi has made a significant impact every time he came to bowl. Though PBKS didn’t had a good season but Bishnoi impressed many with his bowling.
