Adopting a cautious approach, the Union government in its ‘Unlock Phase 2’ has decided to keep schools, colleges, educational institutions, cinemas, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places, and even metro services shut until July 31.

The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the annual Lord Shri Jagannath’s Rath Yatra in Odisha, which was scheduled to take place on 23 June, 2020. The bench comprising Chief Justice SA Bobde, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice AS Bopanna while staying the Rath Yatra remarked “even Lord Jagannath won’t forgive us if we allow it.”
