World EV Day 2021: Ola electric scooter purchase window starts September 8, check out price, specs

The wait is over! The Ola on Tuesday has announced that it will open the online purchase window for its EV scooter Ola S1 and the Ola S1 Pro just a day before world EV day, which means interested customers can purchase the EV scooter from September 8 this year.

The company said they will start EVscooter’s test rides from October 2021 onwards. The company will start the EV scooter’s deliveries in October. Ola said they will provide deliveries and service at the customers’ doorstep free of cost.

Price, Variants and color

Ola EV scooter is available in two variants- Ola S1 and S1 Pro, customers can choose the scooter in 10 different colors. The base model Ola S1 electric scooter price will start at Rs 99,999 and will increase by Rs 129,999 (ex-showroom) for the top variant (SI pro). The mentioned price is before the state EV subsidies, customers can claim subsidies after the purchase of the scooter.

Ola S1, S1 Pro range and charging details

Reports said the base variant Ola S1 is expected to provide 121 kilometers range on a single charge, while Ola S1 Pro is expected to provide 181 kilometers range.

The EV scooter will have two charging sockets- normal and fast charging. On a normal charging socket, the SI EV scooter will take four hours and 48 minutes to make it fully charge, while S1 Pro will take six hours, 30 minutes.

Ola said it will building more Hypercharger fast-charging networks in 100 cities across India so that people would move towards EV without worrying about the charging station.

Design and features

S2 pro scooter will be equipped with 7 inches touch screen display, cruise control mode, hill hold assist, GPS, anti-theft alert, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS and Wi-Fi, a reverse mode, in-built speakers and much more, while the base variant will miss out only cruise control mode and voice assistant features.
