World Tourism Day 2021: From Love Aaj Kal to Tamasha, Bollywood films that will make you pack your bags

World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27 every year. The day commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of the Organisation in 1970 that led to the formation of the World Tourism Organisation.

Officially, the celebrations of World Tourism Day began in 1980. This year, the theme for the day is Tourism for Inclusive Growth.

Given the coronavirus pandemic, the worst-hit sector of the world is tourism. The travel ban and restrictions have majorly affected the people working in the sector and also the economy. To bring the tourism industry back in the picture, the theme will help the world to bring back tourism to normalcy.

Undeniably, travelling has become one of the crucial parts of our lifestyles. With the trend of travel vlogging, people have started investing in travelling. This has also influenced the Bollywood industry over the years. Several films have already been created that have beautifully captured the essence of travelling.

Recently, Farhan Akhtar has announced a female-centric travel film starring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.

Love Aaj Kal

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

This film comes first in our minds when we talk about travel movies. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara featured Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, and Kalki Koechlin in lead roles. The film portrays the story of 3 best buddies who go on a Spanish vacation. They take a road trip from Barcelona to Costa Brava to Seville to Bunol to Pamplona. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

A group of school friends plans for a camping vacation in Himachal Pradesh’s Manali and Shimla. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Kalki Koechlin in lead roles. It became one of the highest-grossing films of Bollywood that year. This feel-good film is a must-watch.

Jab We Met

This is one of the iconic films of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor. Jab We Met captures the life of a fun-filled girl who elopes from her home to get married to her boyfriend. The bubbly character of Geet still has a huge fan base.

Tamasha

Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, the film will make you travel to the mesmerising French island of Corsica. Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone played the lead roles. Although the film did not do well at the box office, it is still loved by travel enthusiasts.
