The trailer of the much-awaited series Sons of the Soil which traces the journey of actor Abhishek Bachchan-owned Kabaddi team Jaipur Pink Panther, was released on Tuesday. The unfiltered sports documentary series will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from December 4.
After teasing fans with posters, the makers have finally unveiled the much-awaited trailer. The Amazon Original series captures behind the scenes of India’s most celebrated Kabaddi team called the Jaipur Pink Panther during the seventh season of Pro-Kabaddi league.
Directed by Alex Gale, the Sons of the Soil is an unscripted sports documentary produced by BBC Studios India. The trailer opens with a clip featuring Bachchan who is seen mentoring his team through high and lows in endeavour to win the Pro-Kabaddi league title. Amitabh Bachchan, ardent supporter of the team also made an appearance in the trailer.

The narrative captures the players’ struggles as they strive to win the season championship for the second time, after their win in first season held in 2014.The two-minutes long trailer features all the team members facing a tough battle in the hands of the opponent team, while commentators stress on the dire need for a strong comeback.
A never–before–seen locker-room interactions between team and Bachchan is also showcased in the trailer.
Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Bachchan wrote that his team’s journey in the league has touched his heart in more than one way. He has always been inspired by their game.
On the trailer launch, Bachhan released a statement saying that the sports series promises to take viewers on a motivational ride and will keep them engaged. On teaming up with Amazon Prime Video once again after Breathe: Into the Shadows, he said it made absolute sense to tell the unfiltered story of his Kabaddi team through this global service.
Meanwhile, on the film front, Bachchan was last seen in Anurag Basu’s Ludo. Currently, the 44-year-old actor is busy shooting for Bob Biswas written by Sujoy Ghosh.
