Assam continues to boil over Citizenship Amendment law

Assam continued to protest against the Citizenship Amendment law, which became an Act on Thursday, following President Ram Nath Kovind’s assent. Hundreds of people gathered on Guwahati on Friday morning took part in a mass hunger strike called by All Assam Students Union (AASU) to protest against the law. On Thursday evening, two people were killed and 8 others were injured in Guwahati in police firing.
