Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him Dangabaaz and Daitya. While addressing Trinamool Congress rally at Hooghly near Kolkata, Banerjee said PM Narendra Modi is the biggest dangabaaz in the country. The statement was viewed as a direct response to the tolabaaz taunt that the BJP uses for Trinamool Congress.
She said that the worst fate is waiting for the PM than Donald Trump who lost the presidential elections in November 2020. She declared that she will be the goalkeeper in the assembly polls and the BJP will not be able to score a single goal.
Mamata Banerjee’s comments come a day after a team of CBI questioned her nephew and Trinamool MP from Diamond Harbor Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira Banerjee into the matter of kickbacks taken from alleged coal mafias. Banerjee’s sister-in-law Menaka Gambhir was also questioned into the matter for three hours at her South Kolkata apartment on Monday.
Referring to the probe into the illegal mining and coal theft case, Banerjee slammed the BJP saying they cannot disrespect a woman, the bahu of her house and call her a coal thief. They are calling the mothers and daughters coal thieves. They are hardly spotless and that she knows everything but won’t say anything as it is beneath her, she added.

At the rally, several celebrities, including actors like Sayoni Dutta and June Maliya and cricketer Manoj Tiwari, joined the Trinamool Congress and raised the Khela Hobey slogan adopted by Bengal’s ruling party.
The country is being ruled by a doitya and a danab (Bengali for demons). They will try to break Trinamool’s spine. They will infiltrate. They will grab Bengal. She aksed people whether they want Bengal to stay Bengal or whatever the BJP makes of it? Gujarat will not rule Bengal, she added.
