South Delhi almost came to a grinding halt on December 15, when the anti-Citizenship stir turned violent in and around Jamia Milia Islamia. Aligarh Muslim University also witnessed violent protests.
In the ensuing violence, police reportedly entered the campus, after students allegedly pelted stones at them. Police fired teargas shells and lathicharged students, leaving at least 50 injured.
Expressing solidarity with the students of Jamia and Aligarh Muslim University, the students of Nadwa college in Lucknow also protested against the police. There were demonstrations in several other campuses as well.
