Delhi’s air quality has plummeted to ‘very poor’ category on Wednesday, according to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 403 (severe category) in Patparganj and at 341(very poor category) in areas around the India Gate. Ghaziabad’s Loni area also falls under ‘severe’ category as AQI is at 456.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered to be good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101-200 is moderate, 201-300 is poor, 301-400 is very poor and 401-500 is severe.
On Monday, the Supreme Court had partially lifted the ban that it imposed last month on construction work in Delhi-NCR. The apex court had allowed the construction activities to be carried out between 6am and 6pm, after considering the report by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
