Kerala CM alleged that India is becoming a strategic US partner in its efforts to form a large defense alliance against China

Taking fresh jibe at the BJP-led Narendra Modi government, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday accused the central government of taking a ‘pro-America’ and ‘anti-China’ stand in its foreign policy.

Speaking at a district committee meeting held by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kannun of Kerala, Vijayan said, “America has its policies according to its own interests which include the stand it took against China. India holds a pro-American stand, decides its foreign policies in accordance with interest of America in every move made by America against China.”

The senior Left wing leader further claimed that the government is becoming a strategic US partner in the foreign country’s effort to form a large defense alliance against China, “which is as per interest of the Rashtriya Swayansevak Sangh (RSS)”.

“China is emerging as a big power in the world… India is becoming a strategic partner of the US in their effort to form a larger defense alliance against China. This is as per the interest of RSS. The aim of RSS is to build an axis of countries like US, India and Israel against China,” said Vijayan.

Earlier this month, CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan triggered controversy with his comment stating that an axis of countries – including US, Japan, Australia and India – has taken shape to launch attack on the Chinese territory from all sides. And amid heated uproar over Balakrishnan’s remark, the Kerala BJP demanded registration of a case against the CPI (M) state secretary.

Also speaking at the meeting on Saturday, Vijayan ruled out possibilities of any political alliance with the Congress. The proposal of the Left’s alliance with the Congress was in tune at the party’s central committee resolution at Kolkata.

Stating that CPI(M) would look forward to strengthen the Left forces in the country, Vijayan said, “The party will organise agitations against BJP’s policies by joining hands with those with whom we can move together.”

Further alleging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its saffron alliances of corruption, Vijayan claimed that BJP is trying to subvert democracy in the country.

“BJP can be opposed only by a right alternative; he said and pointed out that Congressmen were joining BJP en masse. We must be able to unite all secular and democratic forces to take on the communal outfits. The party has to be strengthened,” he said.
