Home Minister Rajnath Singh has announced that India has prepared its plans to seal international borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. These borders are considered to be the hotbed for infiltration and smuggling.
While addressing at Border Security Force Academy in Gwalior on March 25, the home minister said that sealing of borders would be done as soon as possible. Without mentioning the recent surgical strikes across the LoC in Pakistan controlled territory, home minister praised BSF for “changing the rules of engagement”.
He appreciated BSF role in providing security at the international borders saying they were not just first security line but a security wall. This is the only force engaged in ground, water and air operations.
Rajnath has previously said that India want to completely seal the Pakistan border by 2018 by employing a mix of physical barriers and technological tools such as surveillance.
Recent terror attacks in Pathankot and Uri were the handiwork of the cross border terrorists.
