The first look poster of Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Liger was unveiled on Monday. The Puri Jagannadh directorial marks Deverakonda’s pan-India debut opposite Ananya Panday in the lead role.
The poster showed Deverakonda in an intense and aggressive avatar. He can be seen wearing boxing gloves and lions and tigers are spotted in the backdrop of the poster. The actor humbly announced on Twitter about his Pan India arrival.
Sharing the poster, the actor wrote that someone with his background shouldn’t have reached anywhere near here according to the conventions and set norms. But with sheer madness, passion, hardwork, Here we are! For everyone like me, it is ok for all of us to dream big, Believe and make it happen, said the actor.
On the other hand, Ananya Panday welcomed Deverakonda to Bollywood as she posted a picture with the South superstar on Instagram. She felt happy , blessed and excited to be part of a Pan-india film helmed by Puri Jagannadh, said Panday in his post.
The film will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions along with Charmme Kaur. Taking to Instagram, Johar shared the fierce poster, while introducing Deverakonda as the ruler of big screens and many hearts as Liger and the fiery Ananya Panday.
The film will be a sports drama, in which Deverakonda will be seen in the role of a mixed martial artist. The actor has undergone drastic physical transformation to pull off the character. Beside Devarakonda and Panday, the film also stars Ronit Roy, Makarand Desh Pandey, Ramya Krishnan, Vishu Reddy in the pivotal roles.
Liger will be released in five languages- Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam. The makers are yet to reveal the release date of the film.
Apart from Liger, Deverakonda has a film with Sukumar in his kitty. While Ananya has Shakun Batra’s untitled film co-starring Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
