BJP plans 20 days mega event for Covid vaccination to mark PM Modi’s 71st birthday

BJP has asked its workers across India to facilitate coronavirus vaccination campaign on PM Modi's birthday as part of its 'Seva Aur Samarpan" campaign.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday, the BJP is set to launch a 20-day mega drive for Covid vaccination. The event, commencing from Friday, will continue till October 7 to also commemorate PM Modi’s 20 years in public life, including as Gujarat Chief Minister. Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 years and Prime Minister for the last seven years.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has called for a major push to the Covid vaccination drive on 17 September, saying it would be the perfect gift for PM Modi on his birthday.

Mandaviya wrote in a tweet in Hindi: Tomorrow is the birthday of our beloved prime minister, lets do #VaccineSeva by helping all unvaccinated people including their loved ones, family members and all sections of the society by getting them vaccinated. This would be a birthday gift for the prime minister.

However, BJP President JP Nadda has issued guidelines to the party workers to organize health and blood donation camps and distribute ration among the poor under this campaign. In this regard, 14 crore bags of ration bearing the picture of the Prime Minister will be distributed.

Cleanliness campaign on 2nd October

Under this campaign, BJP workers will run a cleanliness campaign across the country on October 2 and create a sense of awareness among people about Khadi and local products. October 2 is the birth anniversary of President Mahatma Gandhi. As part of the ‘Seva Aur Samarpan’ campaign, BJP booth level workers across the country will send two crore postcards to the Prime Minister, assuring him that he will dedicate himself to the cause of social service.

LJP will also celebrate PM Modi’s birthday

The party has called upon its workers to publicize and disseminate the auction of gifts received by the Prime Minister. The Lok Janshakti Party faction led by Union Minister Pashupati Paras has also decided to celebrate Prime Minister’s birthday on a large scale. On this occasion, LJP will distribute food among the poor in the capital Delhi and will run a plantation drive. LJP spokesperson Shravan Kumar said the party would celebrate the prime minister’s birthday as ‘Seva Sankalp Diwas’.
