Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission through video conferencing. He had announced the pilot project of this mission from the ramparts of Red Fort on August 15, 2020. Under this, an online platform will be created, which will also enable interoperability of other health related portals under the digital health ecosystem.
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will now help connect digital health solutions across the country. All Indians will now get a digital health ID under this scheme. Every citizen’s health record will now be digitally secure, the Prime Minister said.
The Health ID of every citizen will also work as their health account, to which personal health records can be linked and viewed with the help of a mobile application, says the government. The access and exchange of longitudinal health records of citizens will be enabled with their consent, an official statement says.
What will be the benefit of health card?
If you have a unique health card, it will be beneficial for both you and the doctor. With this, the patients will not only get rid of carrying medical files to show them to the doctor, at the same time the doctors will also extract the complete data of their diseases by looking at the unique health ID of the patient and then on the basis of that further treatment can be started.
Through this unique health card, it will be possible to know whether the patient gets the benefit of treatment facilities under Ayushman Bharat or not. From this health card, it will also be possible to know that the patient gets benefits of various government schemes related to health.
Aadhar number and mobile number will be taken from the person whose health ID will be generated. With the help of this unique health card will be made. For this, a health authority will be formed by the government, which will collect all kinds of data related to the health of the person.
