Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flag-off eight trains projects including the Jan Shatabdi Express, which will run between Ahmedabad to Gujarat’s Kevadia and the different parts of the country. Ahead of the virtual launch, PM Modi had shared few photos of Jan Shatabdi Express on his official twitter handle. PM Modi tweeted Jan Shatabdi Express will have Vistadome coaches.
Jan Shatabdi Express will have Vistadome coaches that has larger windows than normal coaches which will provid a wide view to the passengers. The train has a eye catching transparent roof.
The other trains projects which PM Modi inaugurated on Sunday are the Mahamana Express, Dadar-Kevadia Express, Nizamuddin-Kevadia Sampark Kranti Express, Kevadia-Rewa Express, Chennai-Kevadia Express, and two MEMU trains between Kevadia and Pratapnagar.
During the video conference, PM Modi inaugurated several other projects including new station buildings of Kevadiya, Dabhoi and Chandon. Kevadia railway station is near the Statue of Unity dedicated to Vallabhbhai Patel in the Narmada district of Gujarat. The main aim of this railway station is to provide providing direct connectivity to tourists visiting the Statue of Unity without any problem.
PM Modi said the way tourist are visiting Kevadia just to see the Statue of Unity, the day is not far when lakhs of people will visit the state in a single day. He added those who has not visited Kevadia yet, should visit the state once, they will feel proud to be the part of the country.
In another tweet, PM Modi pointed out Jan Shatabdi Express would be a reason for people to to visit the ‘Statue of Unity more often. For unversed, Statue of Unity is a tribute to the great Sardar Patel.
In December 2018, President Ram Nath Kovind had visited Kevadia, which is approximately five or six kilometer far from the Statue of Unity, to lay the foundation stone for the railway station.
