In a major setback, the spokesperson of Afghan Resistance Forces, Fahim Dashti was killed during a standoff with the Taliban in Panjshir valley. TOLO news reported about the demise of Fahim and the news was later confirmed by Ali Masaim Nazary, the head of the National Resistance Force’s Foreign Department. There are also report that state that Abdul Wudod Zara, who was a member of the Afghan resistance front was also killed in the standoff.
The latest report suggests that the vice president of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh, has moved to a safe place after a helicopter attacked his house. It is reported that he fled to Tajikistan. Earlier, Saleh’s daughter claimed that his family is hiding in Kabul.
Later, the Afghan resistance front told the Samaa News that they are regretfully updating that the National Resistance of Afghanistan lost two companions in the holy resistance against oppression and aggression today. They further said that Fahim Dashti NRF spokesperson and General Abdul Wudod Zara were martyred.
According to the reports, Fahim Dashti was also a member of the Federation of Afghan Journalists.
There are several speculations that Panjshir valley is soon going to fall over amidst the standoff. However, the resistance force said that will fight with the Taliban till the end.
Ahmad Massoud, the head of the Afghan resistance front said that the national resistance forces are ready to immediately stop the war to achieve lasting peace if the Taliban cease their attacks and military operations in Panjshir and Andarab, and hope to hold a large meeting with scholars and reformers and continue discussions and talks.
