Veteran Tamil director M Thiyagarajan passed away on Wednesday, December 8. Reportedly, the filmmaker was found dead on the streets near AVM Studios in Chennai. He had directed blockbuster films like Maanagara Kaaval starring Vijaykanth which was ironically the 150th film produced by AVM Productions.
According to reports, Thiyagarajan had earlier met with an accident and went into a coma for some time.
Another report said that an assistant director informed about the sudden demise of Thyagarajan on Facebook and had informed that the director had a financial crisis and survived eating from Amma Unavagam. He was orphaned and his dead body has been sent for postmortem.

Born in Aruppukottai, Thiagarajan went to Ayar Film Institute and made his debut with Prabhu’s Ponnu Paarka Paren. After the success of Managara Kaval, he did not get any big projects which slipped him into depression. His personal life also suffered due to no work and he got separated from his wife and children. He was alone for the past 15 years.
