Tejashwi Yadav says he won hearts in Bihar election 2020, Nitish Kumar didn’t

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav condemned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using money and muscle power to form their government in Bihar. The RJD-led Mahagathbandhan almost beat the NDA in Bihar.

Yadav said the decision of the people was in favour of the Mahagathbandhan and the result of the Election Commission came out in favour of the NDA. He said this is not the first time it has happened in Bihar. He said the mandate was also in favour of their party in 2015 but the BJP formed the government by using their power. Yadav said Nitish Kumar should respect people’s decision and step down from his position if he has some morals.

The RJD leader alleged that there had been fraud committed during the counting of postal ballots and demanded a recount, flagging slender margins in 20 seats. He said they had lost 20 seats by a very thin margin. In many constituencies, as many as 900 postal ballots were invalidated, the RJD leader claimed, casting doubts on the electoral process.

Yadav said PM Modi and Nitish Kumar used money, muscle power, and trickery but failed to stop this 31-year-old, adding they could not stop the RJD from becoming the single largest party. He criticized Nitish Kumar, saying even if he sits in the Chief Minister’s chair, the people of Bihar have showered their love on Tejashwi Yadav. In the press conference, Tejashwi addressed all 75 newly-elected RJD MLAs and congratulated them for the victory. Tejashwi Yadav was also elected the leader of the Mahagathbandhan and the RJD legislature party.
